The Area
The Saitama prefecture is located in Central Honshu on the Naguri River.
Hanno itself is a commercial town set in a naturally lush area surrounded in trees.
The town has a large logging industry along with some beautiful golf courses. Both Tiger Woods and the LPGA have played the links here.
Golf
- Kuni Country Club - 27 holes (10 minutes by car)
- Musashigaoka Golf Course - This 18-hole course was the venue of Tiger Woods' first play in Japan (1997) and the LPGA Japan Classic (1998). (7 minutes by car)
- Shin-Musashigaoka Golf Course - 18 holes (8 minutes by car)
- Seibu-En Golf Course - (40 minutes by car)
Sightseeing and Entertainment
- Good Will Dome - Home of the Seibu Lions professional baseball team, this multi-purpose sports facility also offers nine tennis courts. Other features include a banquet hall, Chinese restaurant and curry house. (30 minutes by car)
- Seibu Hanno Bowl - Features 20 lanes and a snack bar.
- Seibu-En Amusement Park - Famous for seasonal events: cherry blossoms in spring, fireworks in summer, colorful autumn leaves in fall, snowboarding and ice-skating in winter. This park also offers a banquet hall, restaurant and snack bars. The swimming area features a variety of pools, slides, and kids' pools.
- UNESCO Village - An educational museum featuring interactive dinosaur exhibits.
- Sayama Ski Slope - Year-round fun facility offering indoor skiing and snowboarding.
Shopping and Dining
- Seibu Hanno PePe - A shopping arcade featuring 67 shops and the entrance to the Hanno Station.
- Tokorozawa Station Building - The dining area (2nd floor - 5th floor) offers a number of Japanese and Chinese restaurants. There is a customer service center on the 1st floor.
